Embracing Your Grief

There is not a right or a wrong way to grieve.

There is only your way.

You may grieve freely and openly.

You may grieve silently and solemnly.

You may grieve in solitude or in the comfort of others.

Just as no two people are the same, neither is your grief.

There is not one formula or timeline to follow. No rules to abide.

So, follow your precious heart, instead, and embrace this new companion.

Take it by the hand and allow it to be your guide.

Give it permission to show you the way forward, no matter how unclear the path ahead appears.

As you put one foot in front of the other, remember that grief is deeply personal and unique.

Like a mirror, it reflects on the past, showing us how much we loved and cherished, how much we loved and lost.

It is there to remind us that our stories, our experiences, are ours to hold onto, to honor, and to cherish.

Friend, your grief – your beautiful grief – is yours and yours alone.

It is not for anyone to judge or demean.

It is not for anyone to take from you

Allow yourself to feel it when it comes calling. Open your heart to its lessons and insights.

Like a dear friend, treat it with acceptance, grace, and understanding - and trust that in time, it will lead you to healing, hope, and new beginnings.
